You can certainly install and run screen sharing on iOS, but as for whether that works for your needs or not?
VNC/RDP clients compatible with macOS are available in the iOS App Store.
Try it.

I've used several. Biggest issue tends to be scrolling around the screen and clicking on buttons. It's a little awkward in all of the clients, due to differences in the available keyboards and in the display size differences. Mac pc mag best apps.
macOS includes integrated screen sharing support, and it's enabled via System Preferences. Nothing needed to purchase there.
Apple Remote Desktop (this community) doesn't support iOS, and is likely overkill for screen sharing.

Remote access via VNC/RDP/ARD has been discussed here on various occasions (look for my previous postings on this topic for more), and that's more effort to set up and usually also involves a VPN or other capabilities as exposing a VNC/RDP port to the Internet tends to attract attention and password dictionary attacks.
